The KHAN EL KHALILI BAZAAR!
PSEUDO - KHAN EL KHALILI BAZAARThe famous Khan el-Khalili marketplace of Egypt is transporting itself to Australia!
It will be held at the Parramatta Riverside Theatre Courtyard to be exact and we want YOU to be a part of this once in a lifetime event. Not only is it one of the oldest and most interesting markets in Egypt, it is also known as such throughout the world. So successful was this Egyptian marketplace during the first part of the millennium that many believe it was responsible for Columbus' search for an alternate route to India.
And what would Khan El Khalili be without the El-Fishaway Café?!
Once upon a time, a meeting place for local artists, dancers, writers and singers, and famously frequented by the Nobel Prize winning Naguib Mahfouz - one of Egypt's most well known authors.
Though we can’t bring Mr Mahfouz, we can guarantee that there will be great Belly Dance and music performances to entertain as you enjoy a coffee and smoke a Shisha! Casual talks will be held daily and are FREE! So between workshops, come, relax, grab a bite to eat, have a drink, go wild shopping and transport your senses back to Egypt!
